Intermediate Drawing
Work from challenging still life set-ups, portrait models
and cityscapes to produce sustained drawings. Draw with more authority and
improve your use of line, composition, perspective and value while using a wide
variety of wet and dry drawing media.
Apply these skills to strategies for assembling source material to
produce finished drawings. Begin also
to develop a sense of the healthy tension between observation and invention in
drawing. Designed for students with
basic drawing skills. Full- or
half-day.

Photography has been a tool of the visual artist since its invention in the 19th century. Learn strategies to translate your photographs into unique drawings and paintings. Topics include gridding, cropping and enlarging images; use of the photocopier and making mixed media and color studies. Includes a history of the preparatory process of the artist.
